About Us
First & most importantly, welcome to SweetPeas & SugarPlums! We hope our products bring you & your child as much pleasure & satisfaction as we get from creating, designing, &/ or selling them!
Our goal is simple: To create fun, fashionable, & unique baby, toddler, & children’s clothing, accessories, & gifts. We welcome any creative challenge. We find great delight in designing & creating products that bring a smile to your face.
Our family is strong in our faith, & we run our business accordingly. We follow the golden rule…“Do unto others as you would have done unto you.” Values & ethics are imperative to our business & will do everything in our power to do the “right thing.” We are very grateful for the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people & are equally grateful for your business!
The inspiration for SweetPeas & Sugarplums came from our daughter, Lila Kate. She is certainly our SweetPea & SugarPlum.
I belong to the school of thought that great products are born out of necessity...& we found (2) products in particular to be necessary:
1) It was necessary to always have a burp cloth handy--our first product. It served far many more purposes than catching the "aftermath" of a good meal. We tote a burp cloth everywhere...to wipe a drooling mouth, to clean up after an on-the-go snack, & most importantly...it has become her ever-so-valuable "blanket." While some might not think it is necessary to have a cute ribbon adorned embroidered burp cloth, I certainly think it is! If it is going to travel everywhere with us, it needs to at least be cute.
2) We also found it necessary (which I believe is the desire of most sane parents) to have a "clean" pacifier for our child. Lila's paci seemed to always find it's way to the most germ-ridden of places! We had received a pacifier holder as a gift that she, and everyone else who set their eyes on it, adored. It was functional and cute...until her little mouth started chewing and sucking on the painted wooden beads. I did the research and learned, to my chagrin, the product was made in China (!!!). Away went the paci holder and on came the tears. I felt horrible for having taken it away from her and needed to come up with a replacement...fast. I came up with the idea of dying unfinished wood beads with natural (mostly kitchen-based) ingredients. It worked! It was still cute and equally functional...and most importantly--SAFE! Our second product, the Naturally-Dyed Beaded Pacifier Clip* was born...and everyone was happy.
While there have been many necessary products that have come about since, we will not provide an exhaustive list; instead, allow you to browse our website and discover some of the products that you too may find to be necessary (...and it is a necessity that every little girl has a proper dress-up wardrobe!).
We know there are a lot of options when buying for your little one, so we hope you find this experience to be exceptional & enjoyable. We welcome your feedback & pictures of your little SweetPea or SugarPlum wearing our creations. If you have any thoughts, comments, or suggestions for new products or ways we can improve an existing product, please do not hesitate to contact us. We love to hear from our customers!
I thank you personally for your support & sincerely look forward to working with you!
Warmest Regards,

*We no longer offer the Naturally Hand-dyed Pacifier Clip, as it was not cost-effective because of the immense time and effort put forth into making them :-(.
